Well, there is a hole in my screen door, and I have a lot to do this week, and something called twittergate happened that has made me paranoid. Food is the only thing that really has nothing to do with work. I don’t think about food at work, except when I eat my lunch, and then sometimes I go to grocery stores to stock up on items I need.
So, in an effort to have some kind of free speech, I am controlling it in the form of a food blog.
I read this post by Orangette on Friday night and then had a dreamy desire to make cake. Especially plain, every-day cake. What is wrong with eating cake everyday? Sometimes you need it. Plus, this cake carries whole wheat pastry flour within it’s crumbles. The nutmeg, if you add just enough, makes the cake taste lemony. The cake itself will make your house and your neighborhood remind everyone of Martha Stewart.
A few years back I was reading a lot about Edna Lewis after she passed away, so this inspired me, like a muse.
